Jeju
This oval shaped volcanic island of South Korea is famous for its natural beauty. Jeju is filled with volcanic rock formations water falls, lava tubes, beaches and forests. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a biosphere reserve. The key sightseeing, their include:
Yongnuni Oreum
This volcanic parasitic volcano in the shape of cone offers stunning panoramic view of the countryside, ocean, and the distant peaks of other volcanic formations. There is a gentle hike to the top which takes around 30 mins.
Jeju Rail Bike
Opened in 2013, this tourist attraction allows visitors to enjoy the scenery; ride past cows and horses out to feed in the fields and chance to Udo Island, Yongnuni Oreum, Seongsan Ilchulbong while pedalling on the railroad track. The full course is 4 kms long have motors for those who are having difficulties in pedalling.
Manjanggul Cave
This 7.4 Kms long lava tunnel has a lot of formations like stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, lava tubes, lava shelves, and lava rafts. However only 1 km of this is open for tourists.
Seongsan Ilchulbong
One of the top scenic destinations in South Korea is also known as ‘Sunrise peak’. Tourists climb to the top of this peak to get stunning view of ocean, Udo Island, Hallasan Mountain and the volcanic landscape.
Gwangchigi Beach
This beach offers a spectacular view of Jeju’s coastline with the Sunrise Peak at the distant.
Soesokkak Estuary
It’s a valley made where fresh water of a stream meets the ocean resulting in deep pools. One can enjoy scenic landscapes from here. The area is well known for tangerines.
Cheonjiyeon Waterfall
This 22-meter-high waterfall is Jeju’s most famous waterfall and a must see attraction. Here water falls into a pool which is surrounded by cliffs and trees. It is particularly beautiful at night when it gets illuminated.
O’Sulloc Tea Museum
A major tourist’s attraction where visitors come to enjoy the lush green tea fields for beautiful photos. It is also the first tea museum to be opened in South Korea.
Aewol Cafe Street
Aewol Cafe Street located on coast of Jeju is famous for its rows of cafes from which guests can enjoy stunning views of the ocean along with drinks and snacks.
Hallim Park
Hallim Park, another must see attraction, has 9 themed areas like Safari Bird Garden, Water Garden, Hyeopjaegul Cave and Ssangyonggul Cave and so on.
Hyeopjae Beach
Hyeopjae Beach surrounded by pine forests is famous for its white sand and shallow waters. From the beach one can enjoy stunning views of sea along with breathtaking view of sunsets.
