Philae Temple
Philae Temple Complex, located on an island in Nile River in Aswan, is a classic example of ancient Egyptian architecture. Built during the reign of Ptolemy II, the Temple of Isis is dedicated to cult of Isis who was worshipped for bringing her husband Osiris back to life after he was murdered by his brother Seth.
High Dam
The Aswan Dam located in the Nile River in the city of Aswan provides hydroelectricity, flood protection, and irrigation for millions of Egyptians. The dam was built to regulate the flow of the Nile River.
Abu Simbel
Abu Simbel, an ancient temple complex built by Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BC and is UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The temple known for the four seated colossal statues, one of which collapsed due to an earthquake.
Kom Ombo
Temple of Kom Ombo, one of the Nile Valley’s most beautiful temples, is dedicated to two gods viz. the local crocodile god Sobek and Haroeris meaning Horus the Elder.
Edfu temple
This Ptolemaic temple, built between 237 and 57 BC, is dedicated to Horus, son of Isis and Osiris. The temple remained buried under layers of sand and silt for centuries. In 1860 the French archaeologist Auguste Mariette uncovered and restored parts of the temple.
